  1. Just found your blog. I am doing the big climb in March and wondered where you have found has the longest staircase so that I can train on it?

  2. Sorry for this late, late response! The Howe Stairs are the longest, from Franklin St. on the east side of Lake Union going up under I-5 and thru Colonnade Park, all the way up to 10th Ave. on Capitol Hill. That's 388 steps total. In West Seattle there's the Thistle St. Stairs starting at 46th Ave. SW: that's 367 steps. And for an especially beautiful workout atmosphere, definitely try the stairs in Burien's Eagle Landing Park: 289 steel steps. Good luck!

  3. Oh boy, that's a lot of stairs. What is your take away during these walks? What do you carry with yourself and what are the most recommended shoes?
